Yes, I know it's not very exciting a topic but I thought not everything in life is beautiful and glamourous but that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve it's own recognition. Take this Dr. Organic Aloe Vera Mouthwash for example, it's not beautiful like eyeshadows or as coveted as beauty oils, but it is essential!
Your generic mouthwashes can be riddled with undesirable chemicals and ingredients that can actually be more harmful than good in the long run. I even know my mum uses one that has a warning label not to use too often or for a prolonged period of time! Scary considering it's for your health!
Keeping my mouth hygienic and clean is important to me, as a kid I was a real slacker at brushing but after having 5 teeth removed (to create space- I have a tiny jaw!) and finding one of them in a sorry state, I bucked up my ideas.
Oil pulling is something I've given ago in the past but I find it quite unpleasant and laborious. Mouthwash to me, as an extra to brushing, is preferable.
This mouthwash is great, it tastes minty and fresh, with a funny after taste i'll admit but no more so than your regular mouthwashes, and makes my mouth and teeth feel super clean. The best part is that it's alcohol free and doesn't come with a warning label! I've noticed since using this mouth wash and also the Tea Tree version I have a lot less bleeding of the gums, which is a major plus for me. I use this regularly but not everyday, and will especially use this when I have an ulcer. This stuff kicks the ulcers arse every time! It's pretty good for a sore throat too if you gargle with it!
The reasons I don't use this daily is because there are a couple of ingredients that I find a touch iffy: Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate (due to the risk of Formaldehyde) and Polysorbate 20 (due to the risk of contamination/ resulting in 1,4-Dioxane). It also contains Sorbitol (artificial sweetener)
Despite this I think the formula in comparison to regular mouth washes it is pretty good! What do you think?
Ingredients:
Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Aqua, Sorbitol, Polysorbate 20, Glycerin, Cetraria islandica extract, Citrus grandis (Grapefruit) extract, Centella asiatica extract, Menta piperita oil, Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, Aroma, Xylitol, Melaleuca alternifolia oil, Arnica montana extract, Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, Sodium benzoate, Potassium sorbate, Citric acid, CI 75810. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans
I wasn't keen on this compare to the one I regularly use from Sarakan. It is nice to get hold of mouthwash with better ingredients, can't stand those ones that smell like disinfectant :D
