When you start delving into the natural beauty world, just like with traditional beauty, there are always some names that you can't go two steps without seeing. Brands that people always have on their wish lists and certain products that are touted as Holy Grails!
Jason as a brand is all of those combined. Never more so than with their toothpaste range and of course the ever-hyped PowerSmile toothpaste.
I love a good salad, which is surprising because up until the age of 18 I hated them. I hated lettuce and cucumber and pretty much anything green that was raw and essentially uncooked. I could eat cooked greens just fine, but cold salad, nuh uh, no thank you. Aaaah how times change.
The beauty box company Latest In Beauty have recently teamed up with Sadie Macleod from Hip and Healthy, an amazing online magazine for literally everything for a healthy life. The site covers exercising, nutrition and more. This January they together created an amazing Hip and Healthy box crammed with amazing beauty and food goodies, all hand picked by Sadie herself! Available now.
Very kindly I was offered a box to review and seeing as this not only included natural beauty products but also an amazing selection of nutritional goodies I readily accepted! Now you know that I love my natural beauty boxes and to be able to try one that had healthy snacks and supplements in it too is just double the fun!
I am very very particular about scents. I like to be surrounded by pleasant smells and hate having to deal with unpleasant ones. I have very heightened senses when it comes to taste and scent so for other people it may seem a little OTT but honestly for me it is a major thing. For me scent and taste go hand in hand. Sometimes something smells so strong I can taste it so you can see why they are a focus for me.
I used to fill my room will gel scenters and plugins but after lots of research I realised all the chemicals i avoid in my skincare and make up and everyday life are just as present and just as toxic in fragrances and candles and room sprays. So i searched out more natural, cleaner alternatives.
What Is It?
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, or SLS for short, is a surfactant. This means that it may act and be used as a detergent, a wetting agent (so it has less friction on surfaces), emulsifier (keeping two compounds together), and most commonly as a foaming or sudsing agent.
|Cowshed Gorgeous Cow Blissful Shower Scrub|
This Feb one of my favourite brands, Cowshed is launching their new product - Gorgeous Cow Blissful Shower Scrub.
This scrub is rose scented and packed full of rich nourishing and cleansing ingredients including Rose Geranium Oil. The rose oil lends cleansing, toning and skin balancing properties to the formula while ingredients of Avocado Oil and Vitamin E give the scrub a moisture boost to rehydrate the skin. The exfoliating power of this scrub comes from Jojoba beads and natural coconut fibre!
What's more other ingredients included are Lavender Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil and Cinnamon Oil, perfect for relaxing and reviving and give your body the perfect way to start the day.
Available in 200ml (£20) this lovely sounding scrub will be available to buy online and instore from Feb 3rd 2014.
Why not use this alongside the Gorgeous Cow Blissful Body Lotion? A perfect pair.
So this one a bit of a surprising one for me. I bought this body milk on a whim from TK Maxx after i'd swooped in on the Citrus Body Milk, it was sitting there right beside it so i thought, 'well i like mint and this sounds interesting' so i got it and it quickly fell to the back of my stash and i didn't think much more of it.
When it came time to pack to head home for the holiday period i wanted to take a full sized product instead of loads of minis but didn't want to cart my favourite products incase they split or leaked and were wasted. So a swift rummage at the back of my cupboard produced this. I packed it and again thought not much of it.
Then i opened it for the first time. This is so much more than i thought it would be!
SoukSouk Beauty Box £10 +p&p *
This week I was extremely lucky enough to be contacted by the lovely people at SoukSouk who wanted to include me in the SoukSouk magazine for one of the months and to do an interview with me about my blog and my natural beauty life on their blog! This is so exciting and of course I jumped to do it!
Evan better was that they really kindly offered me a January beauty box to try, seeing as i've never had a SoukSouk box before (despite being very very tempted) I was thrilled to try it out!
Well, I've been on a rather long hiatus from the blogging of late and its for no bad reason. My family just seems to keep on rolling with all the excitement. In the past 6 months I have been a bridesmaid TWICE. Once each to BOTH my siblings. Yes, both my brother and sister got married within 6 months of each other. The last right before christmas, and it was an indian wedding, so as weddings go it was MEGA and awe-inspiringly big and beautiful. Then there was christmas with two new big extended families, and then best of all, I have just become an aunty!! So as you can tell my life for the past few months has been pretty full on and pretty hectic! Amazing though and I am so very very blessed with all this happiness.
Through all this excitement I haven't managed to properly trial many products to the full. So just to keep the excitement going here is some exciting new beauty news!
