Holy Grail product right here! This is the second tube of the REN BB Cream I have got through and I predict I'll keep using this forever. Really obsessed with this BB Cream! I've done a mini review of this before but I wanted to go into much more detail in a post of it's own.
This for me is a daily essential! It's the perfect go between of a foundation and a tinted moisturiser. The formula is very creamy and smooth which I love. On first application it does apply a little chalky and you get a little scared as it appears quite white, but in a blink of an eye, all white chalkiness has gone and it is just magically blended seamlessly into your skin! Amazing! I haven't found a brush or a technique that this doesn't apply well with, it buffs in like a dream!
Like I said the formula just blends seamlessly with your skin, for texture and colour. It isn't that dark in the tube at all (it's a Light/Medium shade) and I think it will work for most skin tones except those very porcelain and very dark toned skins. I don't know how it matches so well to my skin tone, it use does. It has lovely coverage, not too heavy or thick but not too light and thin either, just good natural coverage. It really evens out skin texture, tone and balances out the areas of redness or pigmentation. For really serious blemishes I do layer a little more on but you really don't have to use much at all.
The finish is a lovely matt but slightly satin finish, very smooth and even, very natural 'no makeup' makeup.
This BB Cream lasts all day for me and it's only really at the end of the day when my oily patches start to break through. In the heat it doesn't slide or smudge or go patchy and there is little build up and creasing of product in areas such as around my nose that I often get with foundations.
Like I said it's a good one to layer and build up if you want little heavier coverage without a cake face. It gives a very natural look and finish and I have no trouble applying powder or cream blushes over the top.
It doesn't really need a finishing powder but I like to use a light translucent powder if I feel my skin is amore oily than normal just to give it super staying power.
This BB Cream also boasts SPF 15, UVA and UVB protection. Ideal for skin that doesn't want too many layered products while still being protected. The smell is also a total triumph as it smells really fruity, slightly peachy or apricoty. Lovely.
Yes the price (£28 for 50ml) is expensive, but I think incredibly worth it. Definitely a re-purchase product!
I just pray that the handling by Unilever wont effect this product or the brand in any way at all! That would be terrible.

When I was in my teens pretty much my main focus (and money) on beauty products was geared at spot treatment. These days my skin has thankfully traversed the landmine fields of puberty and I've learnt a lot more about diet and it's effect on my skin along the way. So currently my skin is pretty good! That being said, just when I least expect it a real corker of a zit will come along.
And, if like me you were warded off Tea Tree after hideous experiences of dry and flaky (but still angry, red and swollen) spots caused by the multitude of spot zapping products on the market back then, the thought of experiencing that again is quite an unpleasant one.
However this product really does go a long way in redeeming Tea Tree oil's reputation in my eyes. A horror story it is not! It's actually quite terrific!
The formula is actually a blend of Witch Hazel, Tea Tree and Kanuka Leaf Oil and is part way between a fluid and a gel. It dries quickly but does leave a slightly tacky residue which dries after a bit of time. I quite like the consistency as it means you can really cake it on for a targeted effect or blend it out a bit for a thinner wider spot fighting layer.
For tackling spots it works really well on preventing them from becoming full blown bliters and is quite good at soothing really sore spots. I can't say it instantly zaps really bad spots that have already reached their peak but it does seem to help them calm down and does so without the horrendous drying effect that Tea Tree oil can often cause. If I've been bad and picked a spot this is the best stuff to use to whack on it to stop it becoming reinfected.
The smell is disgusting, no dodging around that one. It's got that typical 'earthy' 'dirty' smell of tea tree with a herby hint of the Witch Hazel. Quite astringent and acidic smelling. With a hint of underlying vomit-ish smell. Not pretty! My BF claims it makes his eyes tear, it doesn't for mine but maybe I'm used to it. And the smell lingers too. So I tend to keep this as a treatment that I use in the evening or on sundays. The benefits of the product luckily out way the bad smell.
I don't often apply make up over this, but on the few occasions I have, I haven't noticed it causing a nuisance to my foundation/BB cream application, so all is well there.
Also I like the wand but I don't actually use that directly on my face, I prefer to wipe the product off the wand onto a q-tip and apply that way so that any nasty spotty face-ness isn't being put into the tube. It's a handy little pocket sized product that fits nicely into the make up bag. A small but mighty product.
